Job Description Job Description Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill a Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer job for a global leader in security technology. This highly visible role will lead manufacturing excellence initiatives, including automation, digital transformation, and Industry 4.0 implementations across worldwide operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in advanced manufacturing engineering, electronics testing, robotics, MES systems, and large-scale process optimization. This is a hybrid role based in the Indianapolis metro area with significant travel to support factory operations. Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer job responsibilities: Lead development and optimization of advanced manufacturing processes including fabrication, assembly, robotics, cobots, and electronic test platforms Support standardization and continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and TPM methodologies Drive digital transformation efforts including Industry 4.0 technologies, data analytics, automation, and MES platform integration (Ignition, Aveva, Rockwell, etc.) Lead deployment, troubleshooting, and optimization of robotic automation and electronic hardware validation systems Support communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, RS-232, USB, and CAN Support TPM initiatives to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and extend asset life Partner with design, quality, operations, and procurement to evaluate and implement manufacturing technologies Lead facility start-ups, process transitions, capital equipment installations, and large-scale manufacturing projects Analyze MES and historian data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement Develop documentation, process specifications, and test strategies Provide technical support and training to production and maintenance teams on automation, electronics, MES, and process improvements Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, Industrial, Computer Engineering or related field 7 years of advanced manufacturing, automation, or electronics testing experience Proven experience with Industry 4.0 technologies, digital transformation, smart manufacturing, and MES platforms (Ignition, Aveva, Rockwell, etc.) Hands-on experience with robotics, electronic hardware validation, and communication protocols (I2C, SPI, RS-232, USB, CAN) Exposure to TPM, reliability-centered maintenance, and continuous improvement methodologies Experience leading complex manufacturing projects, facility start-ups, troubleshooting, and process optimization Experience taking concepts from idea stage through execution Strong experience in automation, process digitization, and MES integration Proficiency with automation controllers, industrial networks, PLCs, embedded systems, and data historians Strong problem-solving, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, or related areas are advantageous Experience implementing AI/ML (including computer vision) is a plus Ability to learn and apply Digital Twin and AI technologies for factory optimization and predictive maintenance If you are interested in this Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer job, please apply now to be connected with a member of our team.
