Job Description Job Description Job Title: Swiss Lathe Operator / Gun Drill Operator Reports To: Production Supervisor Hours: M-F 7-3:30PM Position Summary: The Swiss Lathe Operator / Gun Drill Operator is responsible for machining precision parts to specification using Swiss-style lathes and gun drill machines. This role ensures parts meet all quality standards while maintaining safety and efficiency on the shop floor. Responsibilities: Perform setup, operation, and maintenance on Swiss lathes and gun drill machines. Review process sheets and customer drawings to determine machining specifications. Conduct preventative maintenance and complete daily checklists to ensure machine performance. Measure and inspect machined parts using precision instruments to ensure accuracy. Calculate dimensions to be machined and make necessary adjustments. Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Move machined chips and debris to designated disposal or recycling areas. Required Education and Experience: No formal education is required, but relevant experience is preferred. Prior experience operating Swiss lathes and gun drills is highly desirable. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Proficiency in using measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers. Work Environment & Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift. Frequent walking short distances. Occasional lifting and moving of materials and machine chips. Work involves exposure to machine shop elements including noise and lubricants. Percentage of Time by Duty (Approximate): Preventative Maintenance: 10% Reviewing Process Sheets & Drawings: 65% Measurement & Dimension Calculation: 25% Chip Disposal & Cleanup: 5% Standing & General Movement: 85% Apply Today We’re hiring immediately .
