Position Title Executive Director of the Indiana Academy Additional Information The Indiana Academy serves approximately 250 juniors and seniors who are gifted and talented from across the state of Indiana and through its international program. The Indiana Academy's major purpose is to provide educational opportunities appropriate to the ability and development of its students. It is a primarily residential high school with several local non-residential students. Through various outreach programs, the Indiana Academy strives to stimulate and enable vitality in educational programs for students who are academically gifted. The Academy is committed to creating innovative programs and practices that attract, retain, and nurture a diverse Academy community. Doctorate in science, mathematics, humanities, or education from an accredited college or university. Three years of experience as an education administrator or equivalent. Minimum Other Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate effectively. Authorization to work in the US Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship. Preferred Education Formal coursework or certificate in gifted education and/or adolescent development. Preferred Experience Administrative experience in a residential school; experience with gifted education program or administration; successful fundraising. Ranking 2 Job Duty Take an active role in the coordination and delivery of ongoing professional development for Academy-wide understanding and implementation of best practices that align with the university's commitment to inclusive excellence; ensure that student voice is incorporated into such efforts. Ranking 3 Job Duty Oversee the supervision of Academy personnel, students, and programs associated with them; assign and review work; onboard and train personnel. In accordance with university policies, make recommendations in all areas related to supervision, including but not limited to interviewing and selection, salaries, discipline, performance appraisal, dismissal, and training and career development of personnel.
