We are currently seeking a full time -Director of Finance -to provide overall Financial/Accounting leadership to the Center. Maximize return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems. Oversee the budget development and financial oversight of programs and services, including written/verbal communication within the organization -and day to day operations. This position is responsible for managing the financial performance of the overall Center, while fostering a positive workplace environment consistent with the values and mission outlined by the leadership of Center. This position will be based at our Corporate Office in Muncie, Indiana. Director of Finance -Key Responsibilities:

  • Compile, analyze and report financial data in accordance with government and industry guidelines.
  • Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, executing, and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the evaluation of plans for expansion of programs and operations.
  • Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
  • Directs or prepares the annual budget, performs monthly analysis of budget variances (including recommendations to improve the overall financial condition), and participates in monthly financial meetings.
  • Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits and coordinates all aspects related to the external financial and compliance audit.
  • Provide status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
  • Provide metrics and KPI's that improve the key drivers of operations and enable effective management, decision-making and execution.
  • Provide financial leadership to managers, supervisors, and team leaders to facilitate reaching organizational and/or financial goals while providing services consistent with regulatory standards and good practice.
  • Create an environment of professionalism and open communication and caring in assigned areas.
  • Identifies and addresses staff development needs.
  • Identify annual goals and monitor progress toward completion of goals on an ongoing basis, proposing and implementing change where indicated. -
  • Identify necessary resources to meet goals.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed, including special projects.
  • Ensure communications are coordinated, support financial objectives and meet organizational expenditure requirements in conjunction with Executive staff and CEO.
  • Maintain knowledge of the service industry as well as current services and programs provided by Center. Maintain up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments that effect agency and program requirements.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial and tax reports, Medicare and Medicaid cost reports and advising management on needed actions.
  • Promotes and encourages harmonious and effective relationships with patients, community and colleagues to include; professional image, demeanor and positive behavior.
  • Provide regular reports as requested by VP/CFO.
  • Evaluate problem situations in depth and independently comes to appropriate conclusions.
  • Use independent judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Complete and maintain operational requirements by hiring and training staff, scheduling and assigning staff, following up on work results, and coaching, evaluating, and disciplining staff.
  • Communicate effectively, both in verbal and written form with staff and members of management.
  • Exhibit precision and attention to detail so that complicated and/or multifaceted assignments are completed with a high degree of exactness.
  • Flexible to juggle several assignments simultaneously, to cope successfully with diversity and complexity, to integrate seemingly unrelated data, and to reduce complex notion to relatively simple terms.
  • Other duties assigned by the VP/CFO We are seeking Director of Finance candidates with the following qualities:
    • Proven experience as director of finance or similar role
    • In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices
    • Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting
    • Knowledge of healthcare services, with experience with providers preferred
    • Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. MIP)
    • An analytical mind with a strategic ability
    • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
    • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
    • BS in accounting, finance or relevant field; MS/MA is a plus
