Job Description:
Thank you for your interest in becoming part of the team at
Legrand!GENERAL PURPOSEThis position is responsible for effectively
planning, directing and leading all Operations related functions,
e.g. Production, Planning, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality
Assurance, Facility Management, Maintenance, Materials, and
Distribution. The focus is to lead the respective operations to
achieve efficient, continually improved performance with respect to
Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Morale and Preparation using a
full spectrum of LEAN tools & applications.DUTIES AND
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Manage short, medium and long term strategy and operations for
facilities within scope while constantly seeking opportunities for
synergies within LNCA
- Lead and manage effective work processes and operational flow
throughout the facility to ensure efficient and effective
results
- Execute on Legrand Way operational and safety protocols and
continually monitor, measure and report on operational metrics
including KPI's and develop improvement plans as needed to meet
targets
- Collaborate with EH&S Team as a champion for continuously
improving safe workplace, taking personal interest and
ownership
- Support and lead plant-level Safety steering committee, with
continual facility, incident and procedural review discipline
- Ensure quality standards compliance at all levels of the
organization and coordinate actively with the corporate level
steering committee
- Lead the development of systematic continuous improvement plans
for all aspects of product and production quality
- Maintain constant visibility of product reliability and
customer experience issues, responding with responsible and
thorough corrective and preventive actions
- Utilize standardized LEAN tools for Continuous Improvement (CI)
including Ishikawa diagrams, A3 8 Step Problem Solving, Capability
Studies, and Design of Experiments as appropriate
- Utilize our ISO 9000 Quality Management System as a value
adding set of business processes
- Work closely with the HR Team to continually seek ways to
recruit top talent into the organization
- Collaborate with other operations teams such as Planning,
Purchasing, Continuous Improvement and Sales, Inventory and
Operations Planning (SIOP) to ensure success in facility key
metrics
- Participate as a key member of Operations leadership team,
assisting in driving functional alignment to Legrand's core values
and development of strategy; Establish themselves as a key role
leader on the AVD Operations team while constantly seeking
opportunities to broaden their impact on the Division
- Effectively collaborate with other departments
cross-functionally to support strategic goals of the
organization
- Provide strategic direction to Operational functions, identify
improvements and support business objectives; align procedures with
customer and business requirements
- Actively support all Legrand CSR (Corporate Social
Responsibility) targets and initiatives and ensure expectations are
clearly communicated to broader team
- Effectively manage, develop, and motivate direct and indirect
reports
- Responsible for all aspects of performance management including
interviewing, hiring, training, performance evaluations, and
recognition
- Provide effective, constructive and appropriate feedback and
leadership to direct reports to foster positive, team atmosphere;
ensure personal and professional development of direct reports
- Initiate and assist with the creation, development, and
implementation of processes and procedures
- Consistently support compliance by maintaining the privacy and
confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the
organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting
non-compliance, and adhering to applicable federal, state and local
laws and regulations, and the Company's policies and
procedures
- Understand workplace hazards and take steps to proactively
prevent and report hazards or injuries in the workplace. Cooperate
in safety programs, initiatives, and investigations.

- Thorough LEAN understanding with proven track record of
improvement using this toolkit
- Excellent interpersonal, oral presentation and written
communication skills; professional presence and behavior
- Proven ability to measure and perform against internal and
external industry standards
- Experienced change agent possessing the strategic, analytical
and teamwork skills needed to drive major decisions across a
diverse set of stakeholders
- Proven ability to manage people; train and motivate employees,
as well as delegate effectively
- Must be able to function in a deadline driven environment
- Proven ability to make sound decisions to effectively resolve
problems or issues, by using judgment that is consistent with
standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or
government law
- Excellent project management, planning, and organizational
skills with the ability to effectively manage several projects at
one time while providing high attention to details and excellent
follow-through skills
- Must possess high degree of professionalism and ability to
handle confidential informationMinimum Education and Experience
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in business discipline or other related
technical degree with vertically integrated manufacturing
experience and a minimum of seven (7) years' progressive experience
within manufacturing environment; with minimum of 5 years
management experience; or combination of relevant education and
experience.Special Job Requirements:
- Requires frequent availability and communication during
non-standard business hours to communicate with team members
working varied schedules
- Must be available for extended, varied work hours based on
business needPreferred Qualifications:
- Black/Green Belt certification and/or certified Lean
practitioner preferred
- Prefer work experience with formal QMS (ISO-9000), EMS
(ISO-14000), Safety (ISO-45000) and formal Operational Excellence
programs
- MBA and/or technical degree
- Experience leading plants in multiple locationsWORKING
CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
regularly required (for the majority of the working day) to sit and
make coordinated movements of the fingers for data entry on a
keyboard.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Combination general office and regular shop
assembly/distribution center environment (no air conditioning)
- Steel-toed shoes are required for working in this
position.
- May require regular ground travel to other company
facilities
- Long-distance or air travel as needed - not to exceed 10%
