Physical Therapy Assistant Location: Lafayette, IN Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,769 per week Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/3/2026 About the Position Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant Profession: Therapy/Rehabilitation Specialty: Acute Care Hospital Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (08:00 - 16:30) Experience: Minimum 1 year required License: Must be in hand prior to start date Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: - Weekend availability: At least one weekend per month - Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays Description: The position requires a Physical Therapy Assistant in an acute care setting. The schedule is Monday to Friday with five 8-hour shifts. Weekend coverage is required once a month. The candidate must have at least one year of relevant experience. Those who are new to the role are accepted. National BLS certification is required prior to starting. Candidates must have an existing state license; pending licenses are not accepted. Local candidates are welcome to apply. The Physical Therapy Assistant will work on an inpatient acute care rehab team. The role involves treating patients with varying levels of acuity, including those in ICU and progressive care units. Common conditions include cardiac procedures, stroke, traumatic brain injuries, joint replacements, and respiratory illnesses. The candidate will implement and follow the plan of care, which may encompass gait training, therapeutic exercises, and neuromuscular techniques. Daily responsibilities include assessing patient progress and making recommendations for discharge. Coordination with interdisciplinary teams is essential to manage the daily caseload.
