Current Indiana or compact RN license Certifications: BLS (AHA
only), ACLS (AHA only) Must-Have: Competence in radial and arterial
sheath management Description: The position involves providing care
in a cardiac procedural ICU. General job responsibilities include
treating patients with congestive heart failure and managing a mix
of progressive and ICU level patients. Patients have typically
recently undergone cath lab procedures, suffered myocardial
infarction, or had device implants. Nurses must possess skills in
radial and arterial sheath management, with assistance available
for sheath removal if needed. The ICU also accommodates patients on
ventilators. Staff must have a working knowledge of cardiac
medication infusions. Travel staff will not be assigned to IABP,
Impella, or CVVH cases. The unit utilizes EPIC for charting and
Pyxis for medication administration. Floating to similar units may
be required when needed, as well as to progressive care units. The
department comprises 30 beds. Dress code requires scrubs in
Caribbean Blue. The department specializes in acute myocardial
infarction, post-cardiac arrest care, coronary artery disease, and
peripheral artery disease. The team focuses on improving
cardiovascular health and educating patients and families about
managing heart failure. Mandatory attendance is required for all
