Job Title: Heart & Vascular Sonographer Schedule Notes: Required:
minimum of 2 years ECHO experience; Registered in modality by CCI
or ARDMS. Looking for advanced transthoracic echocardiography
skills Required Certifications & Licensure: ARDMS Registered
Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or CCI Registered Cardiac
Sonographer (RCS), BLS (American Heart Assoc.) Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: M-F 5x8s 7:30AM-4PM Days ECHO/CARDIAC SONOGRAPHER: The
sonographers perform non-invasive ultrasound in the modality of
echocardiography. They develop client relationships through
excellent patient care. They act as an educational resource to
clients, providing quality and value to all aspects of services.
The Sonographer will be able to participate in research and in
procedures and will work in a supportive environment and be
extensively trained on our protocols and standards while working on
the latest equipment and technology. Required Education: -Graduate
from an accredited Ultrasound training program -Maintain continuing
education requirements as set forth by ARDMS, CCI, ICAVL and ICAE.
Preferred Education: -N/A Required Certifications & Licensure:
ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or ARDMS
Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or CCI Registered Cardiac
Sonographer (RCS) or CCI Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS) -BLS
(American Heart Assoc.) Preferred Certifications & Licensure: -N/A
/n/nJob Description:/nThe Heart and Vascular sonographers perform

the latest equipment and technology. /n /nJob Responsibilities:
/n-Perform non-invasive vascular and/or echo testing and all duties
of a Sonographer. /n-Follows established testing protocols.
Produces highest possible quality study images & data by
demonstrating competence on and proper use of all imaging and
accessory equipment. /n-Obtains an appropriate history prior to
each test with each patient. /n-Responsible for seeing that there
is supporting information and documentation for the exam being
performed. /n-Employs knowledge of the ultrasound technology to
determine if an order revision is appropriate and notifies
appropriate individual. /n-Adequately explains testing procedures
to patients, family members as necessary, and hospital staff
members connected to the care of the patient. /n-Develop and
maintain good relationships with clients and co-workers.
/n-Responsible for efficient provision of services. /n-Works to
ensure a collaborative effort with peers to achieve maximum
productivity. /n-Effectively schedules add-on and emergency exams
to maintain work flow. /n-Communicates with the patient care areas
to properly prep patients and sends for patients in a timely
manner. /n-Keeps the assigned areas clean and ensures adequate
stock of supplies. /n-Communicates equipment maintenance needs to
the Lead and operates equipment safely and properly. /n-Follows
Quality Control standards and participates in departmental process
improvement activities. /n-Participates in Peer Review as requested
and other departmental Process Improvement expectations. /n-Keeps
up to date on new or revised testing protocols and with
professional continuing education as required for licensure or
certification. /n-Is effective in complying with annual hospital
and departmental safety, education and in-service requirements on a
timely basis. /n-Attends department meetings and shares
