Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/09/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 48 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Title: RN PCU Location: Bloomington, IN 47408 Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night 4x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) Requirements: 2 year(s) Cardiac skills are a HARD STOP ACLS, BLS Required. NIHSS preferred. Cerner ppreferred. Description: MIXED ACUITY UNIT - MUST BE COMFORTABLE FROM ICU TO some PCU ratios AA Ratios 1:3-4 - very rare ICU Ratios 1:2 CVICU - biggest patient population is CV surgery and Thoracic surgery patients, including CABG, TAVR, SAVR, MVR, and VATS. Additional patient populations include flex acuity of Med/Surg, Progressive, and ICU of cardiovascular and oncology patients. Years of experience REQ: 18 months First timers accepted: Yes Weekend REQ: Every other Certs REQ ACLS, BCLS Required; NIH is preferred Is on-call REQ No Will the clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? Yes Open to accommodating block schedule? To be discussed Locals accepted: No. Pending License accepted: No. IN-STATE LICENSE / REQUIRED CERTS MUST BE IN HAND TO SUB RTO Restrictions: Must work 2/3 major holidays. Special Requirements: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, post cardiac surgery (directly or indirectly from OR), CABG, transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation/replacement (TAVI/TAVR); Arterial line management, blood production administration, central line care/management, PICC line management; titrate cardiac drips, titrate vasoactive drips. Preferred - Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath/intervention, Sheath Removal, Ventricular Assist devices (LVAD/RVAD/Impella); Care of ventilated patients, ventilator management. Previous charge experience is preferred. Unit Information: Patient Diagnoses- CV Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Cardiology, Endocrine, Oncology Special Procedures/Unit Details: CVICU – largest patient population is CV surgery and Thoracic surgery, including CABG, TAVR, SAVR, MVR, and VATS. Additional patient populations include flex acuity of MedSurg, Progressive and ICU of cardiovascular and oncology patients Special Equipment: All private rooms with overhead lifts.
