The Salesforce Cloud Technical Architect is a pre-sales, customer-facing enterprise domain expert applying broad technical skills, industry knowledge, and deep business acumen. They support sales teams in developing Salesforce value propositions aligned with customers' digital transformation and cloud adoption strategies.
This role involves expertise in areas such as: business strategy, application architecture, data & information, integration, security, cloud computing, AI, distributed platforms, mobile, and analytics. The architect uses a consultative approach to understand and address business and technical requirements.
The architect determines which Salesforce and third-party technologies to leverage based on product knowledge, industry experience, and Salesforce architecture methodologies. They lead discussions on change programs from both business and technical perspectives, develop specific propositions and go-to-market strategies, and participate in delivering best practices, reference architectures, and industry events.
Baseline Requirements:

• Understanding of business & IT requirements, ability to translate needs into solutions, and communicate effectively with executive and technical audiences.
  
• Deep knowledge of enterprise software applications and delivery.
  
• Some coding experience (e.g., Apex, Node, Java, Python, etc.) and willingness to work with code.
  
• Fundamentals of database and data management.
  
• Web and mobile application development and architecture.
  
• Application lifecycle management.
  
• Principles of integration, security, and enterprise data management.
  
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  
• Strategic problem-solving, thought leadership, and ability to engage with executives.
  
• Excellent time management and multi-project support skills.
  
• Lifelong learner, inquisitive, passionate about technology.
  
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically.
  
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience; graduate study is a plus.

  • Experience as an architect, solution engineer, IT consultant, or developer in customer-facing roles.
    
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise software implementation and maintenance.
    
  • Knowledge of risk, compliance, and security.
    
  • Experience with design thinking and innovation techniques.
    
  • Proven expertise in specific verticals or market segments.
    
  • Knowledge of Salesforce platform, certifications, or Trailhead badges.
