We have an exciting opportunity for an HR professional to join our collaborative and goal-oriented team at Ball State University. This position will serve as an adviser to customer areas at the university and manage the FMLA and various leave programs.

POSITION FUNCTION

Under general supervision, responsible for administering, evaluating and resolving issues related to the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and university leave programs. Develop and oversee the University s ADA accommodation program for employees.

MINIMUM EDUCATION

Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

Two years of experience in human resources, with at least one year experience administering Family Medical Leave Act and or ADA.

MINIMUM OTHER

Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent computer skills, including Word and Excel.

AUTHORIZATION TO WORK IN THE US
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

PREFERRED EDUCATION

Masters degree in a business related field, such as Human Resources, Management, Organizational Leadership, etc.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

Experience working with medical documentation and HIPAA compliance. Experience with administering ADA.

PREFERRED OTHER

PHR or SPHR certification.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT SCREENING

Develop and oversee the program for establishing employee eligibility for services under the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act of 2008 (ADAAA), lead the interactive process, and ensure that reasonable and timely accommodations are provided to applicants and employees.
