Job Description About the Role Manufacturing careers that offer more: The Primient Process Operator role is not your typical factory job. There is some manual labor but you are not just standing on a line or doing simple repetitive tasks. Each shift is different, with new problems to solve and wide-ranging duties to perform as part of a team. From your first day onwards, you will be learning and mastering key skills – to start on the path to becoming a skilled technician. Process Operator – the need to know - You will help to ensure the safe operation of our process through a highly automated, state-of-the-art system. - We put a strong focus on safety – it is always front of mind. - Your role will involve climbing stairs and ladders and working in warm and cold temperatures. - Manual labor is not the main part of the job, but you do need to lift and carry up to 55 lbs at times - Ability to obey all safety rules and identify and correct potential safety problems. - Ability to work both in a team environment and individually as required. - Proficient written and verbal communication skills - Proficient computer skills, Microsoft office tools and excel. - Follow SOP’s and/or PM task instruction sets. - Communicate with production prior to starting job and when job is completed. - Ability to clearly communicate this information to team members. - Strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of basic processing equipment (pumps, control valves, tanks, heat exchangers (plate and frame / shell and tube), centrifuges, ion exchange, activated carbon beds, filtration equipment, evaporators, crystallizers, dryers, classification systems, packaging systems and process analytical devices (pressure, pH, temperature, conductivity, etc.) - Perform routine work permitting as scheduled. - Perform area lab analytical analysis (titrations, density measurements, process sampling as needed) - Troubleshoot lab equipment as issues present themselves. - Troubleshoot equipment/systems as required. - Identify and implement solutions to recurring equipment problems. - Communicate and complete detailed logs for shiftily items taking place. - Assist I&E technicians and mechanics as needed / as asked. - Must be able to identify the need for, and request engineering/vendor assistance as required. - Communicate and work with other groups (process engineers, production technicians, quality control) as necessary to promote efficiency in problem solving and work scheduling. - Required to clean up after jobs are completed / perform housekeeping as required in the area. - Familiarize product, steam and airflows though out the area. - Perform Lock out Tag out and work permitting for all work being completed in area. - This is a 365/24/7 Operating Plant – requiring weekends and holidays. Shift Schedules: This job will require you to work one of the schedules below. - B-Shift: 2 pm - 10 pm - C-Shift: 10pm - 6am - D-Shift works a rotating schedule: 2 days 6 am-2 pm, 1 day 2 pm-10 pm, 4 days 10 pm-6 am, 2 days off, 1 day 6 am-2 pm, 4 days 2 pm-10 pm, 1 day 10 pm-6 am, 2 days off, 4 days 6 am-2 pm, 2 days 2 pm-10 pm, 4 days off (Repeating every 28 days) Skill blocks: the more you learn, the more you earn: At Primient we pay you to upskill through a system of learning and development called “skill blocks”. About You - Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent - Basic math, reading, and problem-solving skills - Passionate about safety not only for yourself, but for your co-workers as well - Lifting of up to 50 pounds without mechanical assistance. - Use of hand tools above shoulders - Use of walk-behind pallet jacks - Use of forklift, scissor lift and other PIE - Work in elevated positions with hand tools and fall restraint equipment. - Ability to wear personnel protective equipment (PPE) including a PAPR - Climbing up and down ladders - Working at heights 20’ and more - Working in hot areas and climates for extended times - Working in cold climates for extended times - Handling chemicals properly
