High School Diploma or equivalent1-2 years of previous hotel front desk experience is preferredExcellent communication skillsAbility to understand and carry out instructionsMust be able to work in a fast-paced environmentMust be able to maintain a professional manner under stress Must be able to stand for long periods of time (up to 8 hours) Must be able to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed (days, nights, weekends, and holidays)Must be customer service orientatedAttendance is crucial to positionResponsibilities:Responsible for checking guests in and out of the hotel, making reservations, and assisting with general information. Responsible for completing shift checklist as required by Guest Services Manager/Supervisor and maintaining the high standards of service and hospitality.General Accountabilities:Provide the highest quality of service to the customer at all timesPromptly and effectively handle guest complaints and requestsCheck guests in and out efficiently and in a friendly mannerPost guest charges and compute guest bills collect payment and make change for hotel guestsFollow all cash handling procedures as requiredHandle guest mail and messages per established proceduresDevelop a thorough knowledge of room locations, room rates, amenities, and selling strategiesTake reservations on propertyBlock rooms and handle special requestsMonitor room availabilityHandle safe deposit boxes used by guests per established proceduresKeep lobby and desk area clean and presentableHave a thorough knowledge of emergency and security proceduresGeneral Accountabilities (cont.):Offer and properly handle requests for wake-up callsEnsure all rooms are check in property and a valid form of payment is collectedCommunicate with incoming staff and management by logging pertinent information in the pass on logKeep maintenance informed of all maintenance needsMust wear proper uniform at all times in accordance with StandardsParticipate in any sales lead generator (will vary by property)Specific Essential Tasks/Duties:Participate in daily and weekly team meetingsBe familiar with daily hotel revenue goals and execute tasks and responsibilities to achieve these goalsProcess guest arrivals and departures, including all necessary payments.Handle & coordinate room assignments and pre-arrivals.Handle guests concerns.Offer referral for services and handle requests for information.Handle and store guest luggage.Assist with the check-in and check-out of groups and toursAnswer switchboard with standards of proper telephone etiquetteCommunicate with housekeeping on any issues, guest request, early arrivals, late departuresPerform all duties as indicated in the shift checklist reportMaintains a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate and culture.Must be able to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed (days, nights, weekends, and holidays).Minimizes safety hazards by practicing safety and following all safety rules and procedures.Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate and culture.Projects a favorable image of the hotel to the public at all times.
