Perform random sampling, 100% inspection or first piece production layouts for conformance to stated specifications, including tight tolerances, on various purchased incoming parts such as castings, machined parts, fabrications, stampings, electrical components, circuit boards, springs, die cut gaskets, O-rings, molded parts and wire forms.

Perform random sampling, 100% inspection or first piece production layouts for conformance to stated specifications, including tight tolerances, on machined parts in-house at various routing steps throughout the manufacturing process.

Work from engineering drawings, MP drawings, specification sheets, network databases, process sheets, test plans and work instructions and other supporting documentation or quality records such as customer complaints, corrective action, supplier corrective action, vendor certifications, receipt travelers and work orders.

Perform endurance and destructive tests for conformance to stated specifications on parts such as springs, case hardened parts.

Accept, reject or request review and disposition of parts which do not conform to the stated specifications or requirements.

Process castings identified as nonconforming during the receiving, machining and assembly operations by identifying the reason for nonconformance, creating a scrap transaction record in the computer, isolating the castings by the originating supplier and notifying the appropriate department personnel of significant problems or trends.

Prepare the required test record and nonconformance reports. Isolate, identify and process nonconforming parts, and effectively communicate results and actions required to the appropriate department personnel.

Create test plans and submit those test plans for approval as required.

Use written calibration procedures, reference standards and master gages to perform calibration at specified intervals on various types of standard, special, and precision measurement equipment such as micrometers, calipers, height gages, bore gages, hard or fixed gaging, dial indicators, process specific gaging, pressure gages, flow meters, electrical equipment, force gages, scales, torque wrenches, and torque guns.

Set-up and use a variety of conventional and precision measuring instruments or computer aided inspection equipment such as a spring force tester and a coordinate measuring machine.

Create and/or execute simple and complex CNC programs on the coordinate measuring machine for first piece production layouts, routine production run sampling and routine sampling on purchased items as required.

Position parts on surface plates and perform layout inspection when necessary for accurate measurements.

Use a variety of precision and standard equipment such as micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, height gages, PI tapes force gages, protractors, thread gaging, plug and pin gages, multimeters, power supplies, surface finish tester, optical flats, optical comparator, coating thickness measurement equipment, pressure gages, flow standards, master gage blocks, force measurement equipment, scales, Rockwell testers, brinell tester, coordinate measuring machine, coordinate measuring machine software, computers, computer aided testing software, calibration tracking software, vibration meters, hoists, drills, wrenches, hand grinders, and sit-down/standup fork truck.

Receive, process and route returned products via the RMA process. Disassemble, identify, and prepare salvageable components for return to inventory ensuring that those components are in new condition and meet all current engineering requirements. Dispose of nonconforming components and assemblies accordingly.

Assist in problem-solving and process studies to identify and resolve internal quality issues.

Follow safety rules and keep work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Must Have:

High School Diploma or GED

5 years experience in manufacturing environment

We Value:

Bachelors Degree

Experience working in a quality environment

Experience working with micrometers and gauges

Experience with machine or in machine shop

Computer experience- MS Office Word and Excel
