Dock Worker/Operations Coordinator

Muncie Star Press, part of USA TODAY, a division of Gannett
Inc., is seeking an Operations Coordinator to work at our Muncie
distribution center on S. Walnut St. This is a part-time position
that will require working nights, weekends, and holidays.
The Distribution Coordinator ensures that all paperwork and
newspapers are distributed and completed in a timely and effective
manner to ensure that distributors provide the best possible
service to our subscribers by the delivery deadline.
The Distribution Coordinator is professional with well-developed
people skills, dependable with a strong work ethic, and able to
make decisions based on sound judgment.
- Compiles subscriber and nonsubscriber information.
- Delivers complaints, as required.
- Performs special projects and other related tasks as required,
some of which may become essential to the position.
- Aids in the distribution of newspaper to the Independent
- Delivers routes as needed.
- Maintains a clean and secure warehouse and parking lot.
- Retrieves newspapers from print facility for shortages, as
- Verifies addresses with service issues when requested.
- Assists the District Managers with the day to day
- Verifies single copy returns.
Valid driver's license, satisfactory motor vehicle record,
dependable automobile, and liability insurance required. Strong
organizational and communication skills required for a fast-paced
environment. Good computer skills including Microsoft office.
Good time management skills. Good verbal and written
communication skills. Must be able to push and pull carts loaded
with newspapers weighing up to 500 pounds with assistance and
repetitively lift newspaper bundles weighing up to 25 pounds.
GED/High School Diploma.
