POSITION FUNCTION

Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Employee Relations and Affirmative Action Team by managing department support operations, including: customer service activities, creation and maintenance of records and recordkeeping protocol(s), and assist with affirmative action program compliance through data collection and affirmative action software function.

MINIMUM EDUCATION

Associate s degree or equivalent in business administration or related field.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

Over one through three years of administrative support experience.

AUTHORIZATION TO WORK IN THE US
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

PREFERRED EDUCATION

Bachelor s degree in human resources, management, communication, political science, or related field.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

Additional Employee Relations, Labor Relations, Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action, and/or Human Resources experience.

Must be able to collaborate with a diverse population; must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while being detail-oriented and exercising excellent judgment and problem-solving skills; must have strong computer, written and verbal communication, and note-taking skills.

Provide first-level issue resolution or referral of employee relations, worker s compensation, and/or affirmative action related matters; provide advice on Search Committee trainings; assist in providing waiver documentation, serving as first source of information and referral on the process.

Assist the Employee Relations/Affirmative Action (ER/AA) team in analyzing and evaluating departmental services and programs; develop standard operating procedures, maintaining consistency within the department, unit, and university; develop spreadsheet that shows workflows of professional staff in office to ensure efficiency and organization; coordinate departmental support operations by analyzing work flows, processes and procedures used throughout the department.

Compile departmental statistical information to provide periodic reports for employee relations matters, including out-of-state employees covered under worker s compensation, yearly summary of grievances along with individual information as necessary, worker s compensation information for third party vendor; compile information on affirmative action recruitment activity by following established formats, including applicant list and self ID information; monitor department budget and worker s compensation budget.

Assist with administrative tasks for Worker s Compensation when Worker s Compensation Administrator is available; serves as backup for routine inquiries and administrative support duties when Worker s Compensation Administrator is not available.

Assist in the development and implementation of communication protocols and procedures, including training for Search Committees and communications that come from department; serves as backup to Director of ER/AA and Associate Provost in regards to Search Committee questions involving Search Committee training and related EEO processes.
