From locomotives, transit, freight cars and engines, to tracks, signals and advanced technology, we ensure customers can count on us to meet their needs.Learn how we keep our customers rolling by following us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn, and by visiting progressrail.com .Education / Training:--- Must have High School Diploma or equivalent;--- Basic PC knowledge for data entry;--- Ability to read and understanding blueprints, schematics, wire running list, and other visual aids.Job Title:Electrical Final AssemblerCity:MuncieKey Job Elements:--- Route loose wires and cables to the appropriate components within the electrical compartment;--- Install, route and terminate wire harnesses throughout the electrical compartment;--- Clean electrical compartment inside and out for final delivery to the customer;--- Apply final components such as nameplates, doors, covers and safety guards;--- Assist in correction of any non-conforming issues found by Quality;--- Follow process and quality gate sheets;--- Ability to verify gauge calibration;--- Apply proper torque values per engineering standards;--- Maintain area cleanliness and organization.Qualifications and Experience:--- Minimum of one year manufacturing experience, preferably heavy industrial;--- Experience in operating forklift and/or crane preferred;--- Must be familiar with manufacturing environment, with use of industrial equipment and mechanics, heavy structural assembly, and ability to use various hand and power tools and measuring devices;--- Problem solving ability and ability to apply reasoning and common sense for appropriate resolutions;--- Must be able to understand and follow safety policies and practices when operating equipment and machinery;--- Must be able to work any shift, including nights and weekends;--- Heavy manufacturing environment, subjecting employees to noise, dirt, vibration, hot/cold temperatures, smoke, dust/shavings, chemical elements, outdoor weather;--- Must be able to perform the following for the duration of shift;--- Prolonged kneeling, bending, squatting, or lying flat to apply or install components;--- Frequent pushing/pulling objects through openings on unit;--- Frequent climbing stairs or ladders;--- Frequent lifting objects between weight range of 5-60 lbs;--- Frequent periods of sitting or standing in confined or cramped spaces;--- Periodically walking short and long distances.EEO:Equal Opportunity Employer - Race/Color/Sex/Religion/National Origin/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity/Vets/DisabilitiesBenefits:Progress Rail offers an excellent total compensation package,* including competitive salary, paid time off for vacation and holidays, 401(k) plan with company match, medical/dental/vision/life/disability insurance and flexible spending accounts.
